Good News: Our Teachers’ Works Won 1 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals in the Competition for the 2019 “Hundred Flowers Cup” Chinese Arts and Crafts Award
News from News Center (Text and Photos by Long Yibiao from School of Art)， From September 12 to 16, 2019, the 20th Chinese Arts and Crafts Masters’ Fine Works and Exquisite Handicrafts Fair was ceremoniously held in the Wuhan International Convention and Exhibition Center, Wuhan, Hubei Province. Lu Jin, Long Yibiao, Wei Shina, Guo Chuang and other teachers from School of Art of our College participated in the exhibition together with their works. They harvested 1 silver medal, 2 bronze medals and 2 excellence award in the competition for the 2019 “Hundred Flowers Cup” China Arts and Crafts Award. Among them, “Craft Paper Lantern - Lotus Heart Is Like Water”, designed by Wei Shizhen and produced by Lin Quanyi and Lin Li, won the Silver Medal; “Leather Carving - Nuo”, designed by Fu Hua and produced by Lu Jin, won the Bronze Medal; “Batik - Indigo Charm”, designed by Guo Chuang and produced by Li Gang and Wu Yonghui, also won the Bronze Medal; “Metal Craft – A Spring Morning in Miao Mountains”, designed by Long Yibiao and produced by He Zhigang, won the Excellence Award; “Embroidery - The sound of Blossoming” , designed by Fu Hua and produced by Lu Jin, also won the excellence award.
In 2019, the number and quality of the works exhibited by the teachers from School of Art of our College have greatly boosted. The award-winning works include the innovative and unique paper lantern, the new-style leather carving that combines fashion and tradition, the art work derived from minority costumes and tourist crafts, as well as the art sculpture of ingenious thinking, which collectively demonstrate our teachers’ new achievements in arts and crafts from multiple aspects.
